It is a single-component, water-based intumescent fire-retardant steel paint. It swells and expands in the event of a fire; it protects the steel with a heat-insulating foam layer, maintaining the structural load-bearing capacity throughout the fire duration. Since it has the appearance of classic white paint, it does not ruin the aesthetics or add weight to the structural geometry. It can be applied by airless spray gun, brush, or roller.
